Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?) I've had a Black & Decker 12V screwdriver for a few years, and it used a NiCD battery. I struggled with that thing because of its relatively low power and short battery life. I was a little wary of the '12-Volt Max' of these drills, but my dad (who has been using Li-Ion coredless tools for a while now) insisted that this new technology was far superior to the older NiCD models.

He was right.

The drill/driver are AMAZING. They are so much lighter and more compact than my old driver, yet far superior in terms of power, longevity, ease-of-use, and functionality. DEWALT makes great tools, and these little drivers are no exception.

- Aesthetic / Ergonomics: standard Dewalt yellow-and-black. The drills are small, fit well in my larger hands as well as my girlfriend's smaller hands, and are light enough to use for extended periods without arm fatigue. I agree with other reviewers that the balance on these units is flawless.

- Functionality / Power: these are tough little drivers! You wouldn't believe these are 12V drills, and wouldn't believe they were cordless, if you didn't know it to be so. They are workhorses and I can confirm they perform flawlessly drilling lumber, driving decking screws, putting in drywall anchors, even drilling concrete for putting up brackets/hooks in the garage. I really can't get over how powerful these units are, given their light weight and small size. As an added bonus, each driver has 3 LED lights built in which provide generous lighting of your work surface. They're bright enough for the drivers to double as flashlights in a pinch.

- Lithium Ion Batteries / Charger: these batteries are great. One charge lasted me all day with light use; I ended up holding the trigger down and running the impact driver for several straight minutes the night after my first day of use, just to see how long the battery could last (a long time). Charging is a snap and batteries charge quickly enough that even under constant heavy use, you should always have plenty of juice ready to go.

- Bag: the bag is OKAY, I guess... a bit of a disappointment when you look at the normal hard-sided plastic cases that normally come with quality power tools. The bag is fine, but not the same as a quality hardcase that protects tools from impact, water/sand, etc. I'm disappointed in the bag, but not enough to lower my review from 5 stars.

BOTTOM LINE: these drivers are powerful little workhorses, yet small/light enough almost to be 'cute'. They fit my larger grip comfortably, but will work great for smaller users as well. These aren't going to be the main tool for professional carpenters, but for around-the-house use -- drywall, decking, cabinets, even drilling/mounting in concrete, these are great go-to tools. I recommend for any homeowner looking for some quality lightweight cordless drivers.
