The next ball captures baby's sense of hearing with an easy-to-grasp hard plastic ball with a chime ball inside. The third ball is made of squeezable BPA-free plastic that has been scented to smell like vanilla, a calming scent that appeals to the baby's sense of taste. Appropriate for babies 6 plus months. From the very first day of life, babies are sensative to the overall melody and rhythm of spoken language. By two or three months, they can then apply these skills to all sounds, recognizing changes in tempo and rhythm. By eight months, babies can even keep track of pitch. Shake a ball to let baby hear the rattle inside; then shake a rhythm with it. You can even sing along! Show baby how to squeeze the fabric ball and hear it crinkle. Then give a ball to baby and let her try. 2011 Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Award and Snap Award.

I'm an Infant teacher.. I love these sensory balls! They are developmentally appropriate toys for infants. They are great for babies to explore different texture as well as strengthen their hand muscles when grasping the balls. I bought them for my son as well. He's 5 months old now. He loves them. He use the bumpy blue one as a teether. The rattle one is great for grasping, shaking and making noise. And the soft one is perfect for him to squeeze. They are his sensory toys right now. He'll be able to throw them when he's older. And cleaning is a breeze. I clean with them with seventh generations wipes or spray. They are little pricey. But it's worth it.
