This review is from: ZVOX 430 High-Performance Single-Cabinet "Sound Bar" Surround Sound System (Electronics)
Let's cut to the chase: this is not an audiophile's dream speaker- there are serious compromises that have to be made to accommodate the convenient form factor. However, it likely sounds considerably better than your TV's built-in speakers.

Longer review: The speaker is nicely finished, although it's more functional than beautiful IMO. The sides have high-gloss black endcaps; the top, bottom, and back appear to be black vinyl. The front is covered with an attractive non-removable metal grille. The power supply is suspiciously small, and I wondered about the ability to produce clean bass. The included cables are of adequate quality, and the remote control is simple and functional. The connections for the power supply and the audio input are recessed into the back, so you can place the speaker almost flush against the wall.

My audio source is the analog output of a DAL SoundDeluxe audio card in my home theater PC. Source material includes CDs and Netflix movies. Straight out of the box, the speaker sound quality is awful. Don't even think about evaluating it until it's been playing for at least a day, and it continues to improve for several weeks. Once broken in, the speaker is, uh...ok. Bass is minimal, lower midrange tends to be a little flaccid, with a "hooom hooom" quality. I suspect that this could be tightened up a bit by stuffing the port with foam, but unfortunately the front grille appears to be fixed in place. Upper mids and treble are slightly harsh, but really not bad. It's probably worth trying a higher-quality interconnect cable. The "phase" adjustment is a nice feature- it effectively widens the soundstage if used judiciously.

Although I was somewhat disappointed with the sound quality, I ended up keeping it because my primary goal was to reduce the clutter of a full-blown audio system, and my listening is pretty non-critical: mostly sports and TV/movie dialog. If audio quality is more important than a compact form factor, you'd probably be better off spending the money on an inexpensive receiver and a pair of bookshelf speakers. If the price of the ZVox was $100 less or the power supply was substantially better (and it's just an educated guess that the power supply is a sonic bottleneck,) it would be a good deal.
