This review is from: 100 Different Colors Embroidery Machine Thread + 70 Variegated Spools
Good:
Bought a set of these to use with a new Brother LB6800PRW Computerized Embroidery and Sewing Machine. The thread comes in 4 cardboard tray-like holders which fit nicely into storage containers, and protect from damage in shipping. Each color is individually shrink-wrapped, so the thread does not unwind in shipping. The colors are vibrant and glossy. The thread looks great when used in an embroidery design, and runs well though my machine once I figured out some tricks. The thread is a good value for the price.

Could be better:
The thread is numbered instead of named, but using the conversion software, the numbers are actually the Marathon numbers. However, some of the thread spools were miss-numbered, as the conversion software shows a vastly different color than the thread actually is (such as Blue vs yellow). Some other reviewers have stated they got a color conversion chart, but I did not. This didn't matter to me, but it may for some users. A few of the spools had plastic flash that would catch the thread as it was unwinding. I solved this by trimming off the flash before putting the spool on my machine. The spools also do not have a thread slot (or other mechanism) to keep the thread from unwinding when not in use.

Other notes:
The thread does not come with the rack that is in the picture. The description states the item does not have a rack, I just wanted to call it out. The thread is insanely strong for its diameter, and I ended up breaking 2 needles when a spool got stuck and stopped turning on my machine. I believe this to be more of an issue with the design of the machine, not the thread though. I was able to solve this by using the alternate feed process on my machine. If you are new to embroidery, I suggest buying large spools (2000' or more) of the colors you will use most often like black. This set is great to 'fill in' gaps in your thread colors when you are doing one-off designs.

I just ordered 2 more sets as I have burned though several of the colors. There is a new company fulfilling, who said they will not put the thread on the plastic spools, it will be on cardboard tubes. I'm not sure how they will work in my machine, but we shall see.
